The year 2020 marks the centennial of the ratification of the 19th amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which gave women the right to vote.

Pictured below is a postcard portrait of women’s suffrage and abolitionist activist Julia Ward Howe, along with the lyrics to the Battle Hymn of the Republic, which she wrote.
